Eric has a variety of trial and appellate experience. Eric has appeared in Maryland and District of Columbia state courts, as well as in federal courts such as the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Massachusetts. He has also appeared pro hac vice in courts across the country, including District Courts in Virginia, Florida, California, Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana and more. Menhart also practices before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in trademark matters.

Menhart published academic articles on such issues as privacy protection and Internet tax issues that appear in publications owned by major publishers such as Thomson West and CCH.

Menhart previously held positions with the United States Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division as a litigation paralegal and the Federal Trade Commission’s International Division of Consumer Protection as a legal intern. Menhart also worked as a legal intern in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration, concentrating on radio spectrum issues.

Menhart previously founded two successful private business ventures and practiced law as an attorney at a boutique law firm concentrating in electronic torts.
